FAQs

HOW DO I CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND BOOK INTO CLASSES?

We use a booking system for all account management, purchases, and bookings. It’s integrated into our website, & app. The app is preferred you can purchase, book, cancel and more including picking your spot, adding on water or socks to your reservation, track your class count and much more!

We do not take any reservations or cancelations over the phone. If you need to change your time, cancel your current reservation and rebook- there is not a way to “move or swap” your time. Each class only has a limited # of spots so you will need to release one and then find another- a late cancel fee will apply if you do this less than 4 hours to class start time*.

* If booking through a 3rd party their terms and conditions apply for late cancel windows and no shows. We cannot ever adjust their reservations- you will need to contact the 3rd party ie: classpass, gym pass etc.

I’m new to this- where should I start?

Welcome to the Good Place! No matter where you are starting from we want to make sure that you feel comfortable. Most of our classes open level for any level or mood you may be in. We have listed some descriptors the class style page that can help paint a picture of what to expect.

That being said, if you have never been on a reformer try our reFORM, FUNdamental or ageWELL class, read the full class descriptions here or on our app by clicking on each class.

In any class, our amazing coaches will be right by your side to make sure you feel supported. We “layer” intensity for most exercises in order to build upon the concept to make the move more advanced or modified to your level.

Take reFORM or reFORM I a few times until you are comfortable moving on the reformer. reCOVER is also beginner friendly.

You must be 18 to take a class at the Good Place.

No children, friends/family who do not have a reservation allowed to remain unattended or to “watch” the class for liability and privacy reasons.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST CLASS?

Wear something stretchy and not too loose & don’t forget your grip socks. Grip or sticky socks are required- but don’t worry we have lots to choose from in the boutique if you don’t have any at home (ranging from $11-24)

No studs, pearls, zippers on your leggings or socks, no long/dangle earrings, no loose hair or stiletto nails- for your safety and also to protect the equipment.

Aim to arrive at least five minutes before class, to get your socks on and set up for class. At 5 min past the start time empty reformers will be given to our waitlisted/stand by guests, you will be turned away and marked as a no show (also a $25 no show fee applies).

Check in on your app or at the kiosk iPad to ensure you aren’t marked as a “no show” and charged accordingly.

If you are booked through a 3rd party (classpass, fitreserve) & it is your first time check in with the staff to get your assigned spot and sign our waiver.

Bags, sweaters, open drinks and smoothies, and phones that are not being used to film* are not allowed on the studio floor, as well as props we need to keep the floor as clear as possible to avoid injury. We please ask you put your things in baskets, lockers or cubbies provided depending on the location. We will move you items and are not responsible for any personal belongings damaged in class including phones on tripods or on the studio floor.

Running late?

If you have been to class before there is a 5 min grace period to join in.

If you have never been to the studio or on a reformer we will ask you to come back another time provided there is availability, not guaranteed.

After 5 min past start time you will be turned away. NO EXCEPTIONS.

No show fees will be enforced in this case.

This is for your safety, respect for those in class and out of respect for the coach that is leading the class. 5 min is 10% of your class, if you come in after that you have missed the warm up, the set up and its much to distracting to get you safely in the “flow”.

Remove your shoes and leave at the shoe rack/lockers, cubby. No shoes ever in the reformer studio.

Place your phone on silent in the basket, locker or cubby depending on your location. No alarms, no calls, no distractions for safety purposes. We work in balance and load which requires your full attention.

If you plan to record please only film yourself. Not your neighbor. No calls, texting or scrolling in class- you will be asked to leave.

Avoid a large meal 1.5 hours before class, trust us- lots of core work, lying flat etc,

No gum or food in the studio, also make sure your drink has a lid.

NO GLASS WATER BOTTLES.

NO CHILDREN OR GUESTS ARE ALLOWED TO WAIT IN THE LOBBY OR ON THE STUDIO BENCHES FOR LIABILITY REASONS.

IF YOU DO NOT FOLLOW THE POLICIES ABOVE, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE WITH NO REFUND. WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE FOR ANY REASON STATED ABOVE OR OTHERWISE INCLUDING BEING UNKIND TO MEMBERS & STAFF.

We have a change room on site, but no showers. In it you will find hair ties, deodorant, hair powder, tampons if needed.

We have water, snacks, accessories and any gear you could possibly need for sale in the boutique.

We have a water refill station for your reusable water bottles.

Be ready to move your body, listen to some great music, make some friends and most importantly have fun! Its not that serious but of course we want you to be safe and supported in a positive environment.

This is a drama free zone, GOOD VIBES ONLY.

WHAT ELSE?

Pregnancy, injuries, cramps? We want to make sure you’re comfortable so tell your teacher before class if there’s anything they need to know about your body. We respect your privacy.

Only you know your body! We want you to move in ways that make you stronger & we believe every body is capable BUT If something doesn’t work for you – that’s ok. Be proud you tried, we are here to cheer you on!

IM PREGNANT, CAN I STILL COME TO CLASS?

Congratulations! If you’ve been cleared to exercise by your doctor, you can absolutely join our group classes if you were already practicing pilates with us.

  • Prenatal up to 16 weeks = Join any class you were already taking

  • Prenatal post 16 weeks = refORM, reFORM I, ageWELL & reCOVER are perfect for you but if you feel up to it modify any class that feels good to you.

We have a wedge to support you during class if you need and can always offer options and alternatives to accommodate you.

NOT FEELING 100%?

If you have cold or flu symptoms please refrain from classes until you’re well. Don’t forget to cancel as to avoid a “no show” charge. Late cancel fees (less than 4 hours before class) do apply*.

If you have any injuries please get the all clear from your doctor before attending class.

If you have anything else going on with your body, something we should be aware of, let your coach know 5 min before class starts that you may need a little bit of TLC in your practice.

Always listen to your body and don’t be afraid to ask questions or modify.

IS THERE SUCH THING AS TOO MUCH PILATES?

We don’t think so but make sure you do what works for your body, mind, and schedule.

If you’re new to pilates, then 2-3 classes per week is a great starting point.

Once you’re as hooked as we are then you can build up to 5-6 classes per week.

To make the most out of the Good Place membership, we suggest taking a variety of classes to ensure you’re getting a range of fun, full-body movement.

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY CLASS OR I JUST DON’T SHOW UP?

Whatever your reason, we just ask that you cancel your class on our website or app 4 hours before it starts to avoid a penalty. We don't accept cancellations via email, phone or social media NO EXCEPTIONS.

Our cancellation policies are in place to ensure that everyone has inclusive access to classes and the studio. Please cancel your reservation or waitlist reservation* to ensure the next person can get into the limited spots we have for each class on our app or website.

We hope you can understand!

*If you are on the waitlist for an early am class and do not want to wake up to see if you made it off the list via email, please cancel your waitlist reservation before going to bed. There is no penalty to cancel while you are still on the waitlist, your credit will be returned to you,
